Time is a great edifice. Perhaps the greatest of all. Perhaps, then, it needs to be demolished. Perhaps it is essential that it be demolished. Perhaps it is even imperative.

Antonia Economou, choreographer and dancer, and Pantelis Pilavios, composer and musician, have co-created the dance-theatre work YOU'RE LATE, which will be presented in a limited run of four performances at Tzamia Krystalla.

As part of a new artistic residency at Tzamia Krystalla, the two artists, who have previously collaborated on Economou's work the great nothing, explored time, movement, and sound, shaping a unique space-time that operates according to their own rules.

Artists statement

Time is not an abstract concept. It is a presence.

Yet another body within space. It observes, interrupts, anticipates, separates - and perhaps ultimately choreographs the relationship between the rest.

The inability to keep up becomes physical - it enters your head like a chorus, like a command, like pressure - little battles against something you cannot quite see. Time lives within the body, between listening and responding.

Time is not a clock. It is a hunter. So patient that it doesn't need to chase you; it simply waits for you to pass by.

YOU'RE LATE begins with a feeling we know all too well: that persistent, almost absurd sense that we are already behind. Late for our day, late in our work, late in our very own lives.

With this piece, we wanted to explore this pressure through the body: the urgent need, the anticipation, the exhaustion, the absurdity of constantly trying to catch up with something that is always one step ahead of you.

What if we stopped trying to keep up?
