Drip by drip
from the blue of oblivion

old and newborn,
weaving the language
maternal,

until life becomes noise,
until it becomes air,

memory.

[OF OBLIVION] is a dance-theater stage composition (solo performance) based on the poetry collection [lambda theta] by Christina Kyriazidi. It is the second part of the trilogy RED / OF OBLIVION / BODY, a collaboration between the Greek poet and performer Christina Kyriazidi and the Icelandic composer Smári Gudmundson. The trilogy explores the aspects and issues of women's existence and identity - archetypal, ontological, sexual, political, and social.

[OF OBLIVION] addresses the pandemic of oblivion and how it affects modern women. Through fragments of stories of different women at the moment their memory abandons them, we witness the chronicle of a silent mourning. However, it is a noisy silence, filled with memory leaps, from which women's voices emerge: victims of femicide, domestic violence, refugee experiences, and abandonment. A series of women meet briefly and sporadically just before they sink into oblivion.

Christina Kyriazidi is a Greek author, actress, musician, podcaster, and radio producer based in Berlin. She studied acting and theater writing in Greece and the UK and has worked as an actress, playwright, and theater educator in various European and South American countries. She has collaborated with international theater groups like Odin Teatret and has created 17 solo performances that have toured festivals in Greece, Germany, France, Italy, Argentina, and Brazil. Her theatrical works have been awarded and presented in Greece, Germany, Brazil, and Spain, and her poetry has been published in Greece. She is also the founder of the STORY FOR FOOD project, based in Berlin, which collects audio stories in 14 languages and organizes events of oral storytelling and radio shows. She is also the founder of the International Festival of Storytelling and Performing Arts "We Love Stories" in Chania, Crete.
