The atticus ensemble is organizing its summer production featuring works by Mozart, Schubert, and Tchaikovsky. We invite you to the main hall of the Philological Association "Parnassos" in the center of Athens (8 Karitsi Square) on Thursday, July 20, at 21.00, to attend our summer concert program "Astronomy: Serenades in Nighttime Athens." Through the narrative of the string orchestra, we explore the depths and darkness of the night, as well as its light, trembling while observing the city from afar. Starting from the luminous and ethereal "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" by W. A. Mozart, we are led to the melancholic serenade of F. Schubert "Ständchen" (Soloist: Haris Vasilakis) and then to the magnificent and universal "Serenade for Strings" by P. I. Tchaikovsky.

In our effort to approach new and young audiences, we maintain low ticket prices at 10€ for general admission and 5€ for students, youth, unemployed, and disabled.

The atticus ensemble is a professional chamber orchestra founded in early 2023 and consists of young trained musicians. Its goal is to maintain a stable artistic activity, aiming at promoting and professionally exploiting young musicians, soloists, and artists from other artistic backgrounds, promoting the Western musical tradition and its connection with children, individuals, and society in general. Significant points of the artistic design include the interaction of music with other arts, the accessibility of orchestral music to people without access to concert halls, and the utilization of its educational power. The gathering of people in a circle to perform the musical act is one of the finest moments of human existence and the one from which the Human is called to learn and transform.
