"The Barber of Seville", a vibrant theatrical spectacle for children, directed by Chloi Mantzari with choreography and movement by Sofia Spyratou, opens on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Poreia Theatre. This imaginative adaptation for children is based on the world-famous opera by Gioachino Rossini, itself inspired by the classic play by Beaumarchais.

This theatrical experience combines classical comedy with enchanting highlights from some of the most beloved opera melodies, presented in an accessible and entertaining way.

The talented (writer-actress-director) Chloi Mantzari, after her successful children's show "Rossiniada," continues her fruitful collaboration with the cultural organization Lykofos and the renowned Poreia Theatre, creating a lively, interactive new adaptation.

The collaboration with the experienced Sofia Spyratou enriches the production with imaginative choreography and physical theatre.

On stage, we enjoy live music from gifted actor-musicians trained in lyrical singing. They uniquely embody their roles while singing, dancing, and playing clarinet, saxophone, flute, guitar, and ukulele with dazzling skill.

The performance blends elements of commedia dell'arte, improvisation, stunning costumes, dance, and spectacular acrobatics! The opera elements woven into the play are cleverly presented, offering joy to children and adults alike-even to those who have never attended an opera before.

Children will adore the colorful characters-and especially the resourceful barber, Figaro.

Figaro finds himself in hilarious adventures as he helps Count Almaviva win the heart of the beautiful Rosina. But the road is not easy, since her strict guardian, Bartolo, has other plans.

The story unfolds quickly, with humor, disguises, misunderstandings, and clever tricks.

And in the end? Love-as always-finds a way to prevail!
