Antichrist by Ioannis Angelakis is a new music-theatre performance in which sound lies at the core of the dramaturgy, acting as a force that brings the stage action to life. Musicians and singers on stage are seamlessly integrated into the choreography, lighting, and electronic soundscape, forming a unified expressive body.

The performance is woven as a sequence of symbolic and allusive tableaux that explore historical figures of evil and otherness. Drawing on theological, mythological, and literary archetypes from horror cinema, the history of psychopathology, and contemporary post-humanist theories, the work examines the mechanisms by which fear of otherness takes shape, assumes a body, and acquires a narrative.

Here, the Antichrist is treated not as a religious figure but as a powerful cultural symbol. From this perspective, the performance examines how evil has been projected throughout history onto identities stigmatized as deviant and dangerous. The performance is a choreography of forces, in which sound transforms into flesh, and the familiar is stripped away, revealing its most uncertain aspects. The audience is not called upon to interpret it but to co-exist with the unfamiliar, measure themselves against its myths and the fears that shape our collective narratives, and reflect on the limits of human understanding.
