This summer, the Andros Festival hosts a special, double musical encounter, with two of the most important and captivating voices of the contemporary Greek music scene.

On Saturday 22 August, Martha Frintzila with the Kubara Project, and Maria Papageorgiou will appear at the Open-air Theatre of Andros Town, as part of the Andros Festival!

In the 1st part of the concert, Maria Papageorgiou presents a live programme that bridges her personal discography and major collaborations with the work of leading composers. The singer converses and interacts on stage with her excellent musicians in a pure, meaningful concert experience fuelled by her personal discography; songs from Mikis Theodorakis' "Correspondence" that travelled all the way to China; the poetry in Thanos Mikroutsikos' music; the reissues of her books that continue to be organically incorporated into her lyrics; the important songwriters she loves; and the songs from her new album.

In the 2nd part of the concert, Martha Frintzila goes on stage with the Kubara Project. With 20 years of experience, the explosive performer and her team of virtuoso musicians set up a musical celebration full of spontaneity and intense improvisation. The programme includes Indian songs of the 60s; rembetiko songs; songs by the greatest Greek and foreign composers of the last two centuries; and traditional songs from Greece and the world, transforming personal stories into a collective experience.

A unique evening at the Andros Festival that does not reproduce, but narrates, taking us on a time-travelling journey through music. We look forward to seeing you!
