Dance Your Way Out is an audio - walking experience, a guided journey for the celebration of movement, and the pleasure of free dance. The participants meet their guides and follow them through fictional voices and guided movement routines, along a public route. Dance Your Way Out draws from the idea of the ''dancing plague'' and dance's ability to be contagious - a social phenomenon that emerged during the Middle Ages, dragging people into a non-stop dance for several days - and relies on entertainment and the human-body's ability to fall into rhythm. It suggests a collective experience and an invitation towards a tekno-driven dance in public space. How do we experience our daily journey in the city through movement and sound? The participants navigate as a group following its own rhythm, in between the various temporalities that the landscape suggests. The work proposes a vibrant and loud experience for the participants, but it stays silent for the observers!
