"Manos Hadjidakis" Open-air Theatre
The performance "Synesthesia" is a contemporary, interdisciplinary project directed by Manolis Seiragakis that transcends the boundaries between art forms. At its core lies a live, real-time dialogue between music, visual arts, and stage performance. On stage, the acclaimed conductor and pianist Vassilis Tsabropoulos performs selected musical pieces, creating an open narrative while visual artist Kalli Karadaki works on an unfinished artwork. Music is the main driver: colour, form, and gesture stem from sound and rhythm. Nothing is predetermined; the artwork acquires form before the audience, evoking the theory of synesthesia that inspired great pioneers like Wassily Kandinsky. This "theatrical canvas" acts as a living organism in constant transformation.
