Maxim Vaga
Concert & film screening
live at Baumstrasse
November 22 Saturday, 2025 | 21:30
Maxim Vaga is a singer, songwriter, and producer who combines influences from blues, soul, indie, and urban folk. On a journey through musical styles from all corners of the globe, his songs have a timeless character and unite apparent opposites in a playful, experimental way.
"Maxim Vaga jumps straight into the league of Hozier and The Black Keys" (radio eins)
Maxim Vaga's debut EP, THIS LOVE, is the first in a series of releases resulting from a close collaboration with two-time Grammy-nominated producer Dan Cox (Florence & The Machine, Lianne La Havas, Peter Doherty) and with acclaimed Greek composer Petros Klampanis (Arooj Aftab).
The THIS LOVE EP is a nouveau blues exploration of the spectrum of pain and belonging and is presented alongside a film trilogy - a mythological journey through the cycles of life, love, and personal freedom. Directed by filmmaker Panos Andrianos and choreographed and performed by Nava Ilfu, Maxim Vaga's episode for the EP's title track, THIS LOVE, takes us underwater in the Aegean Sea.
"The troubadour Maxim Vaga has traveled the world for years, worked as a street musician in Paris, has a karmic relationship with Greece, performed on stages in New York, Montreal, London, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, and Athens, but has always returned to his home in Berlin." (DLF Kultur)
