presenting the untamable myth of Carmen !!!

The company is directed by the famous dancer and choreographer David Gutierrez, considered one of the most talented dancers in Spain and recognized as one of the leading dancers of international flamenco

Carmen is pain, passion and a cry for freedom, feelings that flamenco art masterfully represents in its wildest and most primitive aspect. David Gutierrez has adapted the story written by Prosper Merimee and on George Bizet's music and brings new elements of flamenco that were previously unknown, going beyond the traditional conception . The values for which Carmen is today a woman of our time maintains her message of freedom and courage in the face of an unequal world where women still fight for their rights.

The adaptation of flamenco music and ballet with the distinctive stamp that characterises David Gutierrez, places the work in a new paradigm of the universal myth and flamenco of the 21st century.

Under the direction and creativity of David Gutierrez the Barcelona Flamenco Ballet has produced world renowned shows in some of the most emblematic opera houses, theatres and festivals in more than 50 countries across five continents .
