Sunday, October 5, 2025
Time: 21:00
The N.P.C.S. "Center for Research, Arts & Culture DOMOS" presents a grand music evening-celebration dedicated to the memory of Chronis Aidonidis, an authentic interpreter of tradition, who with his voice united Thrace with Constantinople and all of Asia Minor.
The concert entitled "In Galatas, a Light Rain" will take place on Sunday, October 5 at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, exactly 30 years after Chronis Aidonidis' first appearance at the Herodeion and just a few days before the completion of two years since his passing.

The Orchestra
The music program is curated and presented by the 15-member Greek Music Orchestra "Chronis Aidonidis", formed by distinguished virtuosos and his close collaborators. The repertoire draws from his rich musical heritage - Thrace, Constantinople, Smyrna - where traditional song meets Byzantine ethos and Greek memory.
Chronis Aidonidis
He was not just a guardian of tradition; he was a true translator of cultural values, bridging the authenticity of the past with the pursuit of the future. And this is precisely the thread we continue to weave...
The Silk
Artistic direction: Nikos Soulis
A visual concept dedicated to Silk, as a symbol of transformation and cultural connection. The Herodeion becomes a visual and musical canvas where Greek identity is "woven" through sounds, images, and traditional forms.
A symbolic - and historic - night
The night of October 5 acquires historic significance for three reasons:
· 30 years since Chronis Aidonidis' first appearance at the Herodeion
· 18 days before the completion of 2 years since his passing
· One of the last concerts at the Herodeion before it closes for 3 years of restoration works
