PRESENTATION

The Parklife concert series continues its rousing appearances at the Panoramic Steps of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, with bands from the alternative domestic music scene making up the soundtrack of the summer.

On Thursday, July 22, at 21:00, Ta Paidia tis Palaiotitas and Paidi Trauma connect the dots between Corfu and Athens with poetry, urban romanticism and rock'n'roll intensity. The two bands share the stage to draw the audience into songs of vulnerability and personal truth.

Coming back to live appearances, Ta Paidia tis Palaiotitas take the stage with an 8-member band to present their latest album, Enthymion Neanikon Syntrofion, "walking," in their own words, "a fine line between subculture and emotional exhilaration". Just before, Paidi Trauma enlists the help of four musicians to bring to life sounds and rhythms from his record Tha Katastrepso ton Kosmo, alongside older, favorite tracks such as "San Ichthis". Based in Corfu, Ta Paidia tis Palaiotitas appeared on the scene in the summer of 2013, as the evolution of the popular band Kore. In 2014, they released their first album entitled 12 Tragoudia apo tis Katakomves (Songs from the Catacombs), followed by Consortium in Amato (2015) and Enthymion Neanikon Syntrofion (Memento of Youthful Company - 2020), which many see as their best work to date. Their rare live appearances are guaranteed to be controversial, led, as always, by their temperamental frontman P.E. Dimitriadis.

Paidi Trauma writes music and words in a high-rise apartment block in central Athens. Recognized as one of the representatives of contemporary urban song, he keeps his true identity a secret. He released his first album Mistikes Horeftikes Kiniseis (Secret Dance Moves) in 2018, accompanied by a manual for acquiring supernatural powers. Two years later, he followed up with Tha Katastrepso ton Kosmo (I will Destroy the World), which is based on the true story of a paranoid criminal arrested in the mid-1990s.

The Parklife concert series welcomes us back to the SNFCC's Panoramic Steps, in keeping with all the necessary health protection measures.
