This summer, music ascends the SNFCC's Panoramic Steps!
With a versatile music program, and in compliance with all the necessary protection measures, the Parklife concert series welcomes the audience of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center at the Panoramic Steps.
On Friday 18/06, at 21:00, Fotis Siotas and Nefeli Fasouli take their turn on the stage. Two artists with a shared view of the past of Greek songwriting and a joint creative vision for its future come together to present two separate programs, each introducing us to their own, unique world.
Having completed the studio recordings for his second solo album "Dyo Lathi" (Two Mistakes), with lyrics, once again, by Thodoris Gonis, Fotis Siotas will perform his new songs for the first time, along with those from his previous record, "Ta Deftera" (The Second). With Siotas himself on violin, guitar and vocals, Dimitris Tsekouras on the bass, and Kleon Antoniou on the guitar, and joined by Kostis Kostakis on the steel (Hawaiian) guitar and the folk guitar, and Giorgos Fountoukos on the folk guitar, the band orchestrates a contemporary, distinctive folk sound with references to the global folk songwriting tradition.
Just a few days after the release of her first album, entitled "O Kosmos Sou" (Your World), with music and lyrics by Foivos Delivorias, Nefeli Fasouli will present her new work to the audience, along with much-loved covers. Accompanying her will be Kostis Christodoulou (keyboards), Sotiris Douvas (drums), Yoel Soto (bass) and Angelos Angelidis (guitar).
Born in Thessaloniki, Fotis Siotas started taking violin and singing lessons at the city's State Conservatory at the age of nine. In 1993, he embarked upon a collaboration with Sokratis Malamas and Thanasis Papakonstantinou, joining them in both live appearances and studio recordings. In 2016, he formed the band Sotires. From the summer of 2020, he has been performing live with Pavlos Pavlidis; he has written music for the National Theater, the State Theater of Northern Greece, and dozens of other productions. In recent years, he has been working with lyricist Thodoris Gonis. Their first joint record, entitled "Ta Deftera", was released in 2019, and "Dyo Lathi" is expected in early 2022.
Known for her live appearances, mostly through her collaboration with Foivos Delivorias, Nefeli Fasouli started studying the violin at age six. From 2014 to 2016, she took jazz singing, vocal improvisation and theory lessons at the Athenaeum Conservatory, and completed the advanced seminar in vocal instruction at the National Conservatory of Athens. In 2013, she joined the University of Athens School of Law, from where she graduated in 2018.
