Abul Mogard & Rafael Anton Irisarri live

Abul Mogard and Rafael Anton Irisarri, two of the most distinctive figures in contemporary ambient and drone music, come together for a rare joint live performance at the Ioannis Despotopoulos Amphitheatre of the Athens Conservatoire, as part of St Paul's Sessions 8.
Their collaboration is built around deep drones and subtle melodic interventions, shaping an experience that transcends the conventional concert format and approaches a state of focused acoustic and bodily concentration.
Abul Mogard is known for his singular sonic imprint and his releases on seminal labels within the international ambient scene. He creates slowly and deeply evolving soundscapes, where drone functions as depth and quiet intensity, with a strong emphasis on duration and the gradual transformation of sound.
Rafael Anton Irisarri is among the most widely recognized composers in contemporary atmospheric music. Through electric guitar and electronic processing, he constructs cinematic sound environments in which melody operates as sensation and inner tension, emphasizing dynamics and emotional resonance.
Within the framework of St Paul's Sessions 8, this highly anticipated joint appearance will unfold as a deeply immersive listening experience with seated audience, in complete darkness and with a strong focus on stereo imaging and the dynamic qualities of sound, inviting the audience into an intensely focused act of listening.
