One of the greatest orchestras in Europe, the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra presents a concert, which saw rock music being performed in the great opera houses of Europe: Classic Rock! Famous hit songs of the greatest rock bands are presented in symphony arrangements, together with electric instruments. The City of Prague of Philharmonic Orchestra will join forces with the Athens State Orchestra exclusively for the concert that will be held at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus. On 21 and 22 September, acclaimed artists, each in their individual style, will join forces on stage, inviting us to a unique musical experience. The greatest hits of Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Queen, AC/DC, Deep Purple, Scorpions and Police will be performed by the great musicians of the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and the Athens State Orchestra, as well as famous guests, under the baton of conductor, composer, and orchestrator Friedemann Riehle.

They will be joined on stage by the famous Steve Harley, frontman of Cockney Rebel, to sing the beloved songs “Sebastian” and “Hideaway”, as well as rock songs that he personally loves, including Rolling StonesΆ “Paint it Black” and Led ZeppelinΆs “Stairway to Heaven.” Famous rock musicians such as Frank ZappaΆs drummer Frantisek Hönig will also take part in the concert.

The gig list includes music and songs from legendary albums such as Pink FloyΆs “Dark Side of the Moon” and “The Wall,” famous songs of Deep Purple such as “Smoke on the Water” and “Perfect Strangers,” QueenΆs greatest hits including “We Are the Champions” and “A Kind of Magic” and songs by Led Zeppelin, AC/D/C, Scorpions and Police.

The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra has presented this concert all around the world, collaborating with other great orchestras. All performances have met with great success and have sold out. One of the most iconic performances saw the Orchestra collaborating with Ian Gillan, Deep PurpleΆs frontman. Famous rock musicians, critics and spectators who lived the experience all agree that these are the greatest covers of rock music by a classic orchestra.
