The Béjart Ballet Lausanne returns to the iconic Odeon of Herodes Atticus - a venue deeply loved by its founder, Maurice Béjart - for a unique performance on Thursday, September 18, 2025.
Honoring the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mikis Theodorakis, the company will present the choreography "7 Greek Dances", set to the music of the legendary Greek composer.
A one-of-a-kind piece, inspired by Theodorakis' enchanting melodies and the authentic steps of Greek dancers, created by Maurice Béjart - a true philhellene and personal friend of Mikis Theodorakis.
A powerful encounter between two great masters of art that promises to captivate us.
In its second part, the performance will take us on a journey through Béjart's choreographic and musical repertoire with the work "Béjart et nous".
This artistic piece, curated with sensitivity by Julien Favreau, delves into Béjart's rich work, interpreted by the current dancers of the company.
Maurice Béjart is considered one of the founding figures of contemporary dance. Through his masterful creations, he redefined the very form of dance expression.
Greece was one of his beloved destinations, a source of inspiration for some of his most emblematic choreographies.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the "Together for Children" Association.
The performance is held with the support of the AKTOR Group of Companies.
