"From the West to the East"

Piano concert with solo pieces and pieces for two pianos of Greek and Persian Music with pianists Joula Andreou-Zografou and Bahareh Komai.

Joula Andreou - Zografou

She was born and raised in Piraeus. She studied piano in Greece (National Conservatory of Athens) and in Germany (Staetisches Konservatorium Koln). She was taught by Alena Ciancova and H. Goldmund. She actively participated in performance and technique master classes by D. Kraus, U. Junge, A. Solymon, A. Brendel, B. Skoda, Vl. Eskenanzy at Music Academies of Stuttgard, Weimar, Koeln, Salzburg, Brune. She received an award for her Chopin performance. Except for her solo career, she cooperated with Chris Jarrett (Suite Greque) Reiner & Ludmilla Witzel (Orfeus Trio), Spyros Mourikis, Nina Patrikidou, et al. She gave concerts in Greece, at many cities in Europe, but also in Egypt, Russia, Syria, Turkey, Iran. With the aforementioned ensembles (Trio & Quartet), they play improvising mainly on Greek traditional music). She gave first formal performances of works of Greek composers such as N. Nikolaides, S. Berdelis, Sotiris Nikolas Kassos and N. Sifakis).  

Bahareh Komai

Iranian pianist from Tehran. She teaches at the University and privately. She started piano lessons at the age of 6 years old with Dr Ruhani and then in Vienna, with Professor Geretschlaege (Konservatorium Wienn). She has given solo recitals and recitals for 2 pianos in her country with composer Safa K. Shalidi. She is one of the few pianists in Iran. She is coming for the first time abroad and she has chosen to perform works of Greek and Persian music for 2 pianos in Greece with Mrs Joula Andreou-Zografou. Alongside her musical studies, Bahareh Komai has also studied Medicine (Microbiology).
