A comedy opera in three acts, with libretto by Ludovic Halevy & Henri Meilhac

La Belle Hélène is the hilarious - surprise operetta that won over audiences and critics. It is returning for the third consecutive year, directed by Panagiotis Adam, conducted by Chrysa Grenda.
Offenbach's best-known farce, the work is a satire that spares no one. Its melodies created a school, this musical comedy creatively combines wonderful musical interpretations with scenes of authentic humour from its opening notes to its finale.
Love, adultery, jealousy, lifeguard antics, disguises and divination techniques hand out laughter generously. Going against the reputation that would have opera be an event for the “chosen few” and the operetta becoming an antiquated museum piece, La Belle Hélène highlights the popular and approachable character of the specific theatrical genre, proposing a new, radical reading.
From an updated and modern perspective - as regards to direction, kinesiology and performance - La Belle Hélène speaks Greek and light-heartedly, but clearly, outlines a society that is doing everything it can, in order to avoid the harsh reality of daily life.
